I don`t know what these pieces were used for......
I was told that they were used to catch spillage when bottling the wine from the barrels. Another theory was that they used to add liqueur de triage for the secondary fermentation of champagne.
What ever they were, they are make great decorative pieces.
The sizes vary slightly. One is stamped `A Flour` another `L Jourdan`
Although they were tinned, the insides are quite worn.
